Today, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, appointed the State Commission for Cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This marks the reestablishment of the functioning of this body after a four-year hiatus, creating conditions for the implementation of numerous projects within one of the most significant United Nations organizations.

Nineteen members of the State Commission for UNESCO were appointed based on proposals from state and entity ministries responsible for issues within the scope of UNESCO's work. Minister of Civil Affairs Dubravka Bošnjak was appointed as the President of the Commission.

The State Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO in Bosnia and Herzegovina is an advisory body to the Council of Ministers of BiH. Its task is to consider all issues related to international cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO in the fields of education, science, culture, and information. This includes matters concerning UNESCO programs and projects in which Bosnia and Herzegovina should participate. The Commission facilitates the exchange and collection of materials for the use of international experiences and knowledge in the fields of education, science, culture, and information obtained through UNESCO activities. It also informs institutions and organizations in the country about UNESCO's goals and activities. Special attention is given to the preservation and promotion of UNESCO-protected assets, as well as the preparation of new nominations for the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the International Register of the Memory of the World, and more.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs coordinates activities and establishes international cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture. It particularly emphasizes collaboration with UNESCO. The appointment of the State Commission is of special significance concerning the Ministry's role in all areas within the scope of UNESCO's work.

As the President of the Commission, Minister Dubravka Bošnjak emphasized a strong commitment to achieving the goals and mission of UNESCO and further developing the successful collaboration that has been established so far.
