The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, spoke in Sarajevo with the Commander EUFOR Major General Helmut Habermayer.

The discussion covered cooperation between the Ministry and EUFOR, and demining was highlighted as an area of mutual interest.

Habermayer reiterated EUFOR's commitment to work in close cooperation with partners and continue to provide support in preserving a safe and stable environment for all BiH residents, and he included humanitarian demining among the priorities for action.

Minister Bošnjak and Major General Habermayer agreed that thanks to good cooperation, a number of demining projects were realized, as well as that it is necessary to continue with good practices in order to clear Bosnia and Herzegovina of landmines. For this purpose, they particularly underlined the importance of the Mine Action Centre (BH MAC), as well as the great role of international partners in the field of demining in BiH.

This was the first discussion between Minister Dubravka Bošnjak and  Commander EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the mutual wish to continue the successful cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and EUFOR in the coming period was expressed.
