Minister Dubravka Bošnjak met with members of the Rectors' Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Today in Sarajevo, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, held a meeting with members of the Rectors' Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss the development of higher education in the country.

The attendees included the rector of the University of Banja Luka and the chairman of the Rectors' Conference of BiH, Prof. Dr. Radoslav Gajanin, the vice-rector of the University of Mostar, Prof. Dr. Zdenko Klepić, the rector of the University of East Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Milan Kulić, the rector of the University of Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Nermina Hadžigrahić, the rector of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, and the rector of the University of Bihać, Prof. Dr. Fadil Islamović, along with the director of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Enes Hašić.

The focal point of the discussion was the necessary amendments to the Framework Law on Higher Education, emphasizing the need to align regulations at all levels of competent authorities with the Framework Law in line with contemporary challenges and standards of higher education.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within its competence, supports every effort aimed at improving the higher education sector. Minister Bošnjak particularly highlighted that investing in science is crucial for societal development.

Other important issues discussed during the meeting included the adoption of a qualifications framework and intensifying cooperation between the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Rectors' Conference. Enhancing such cooperation, coupled with regular progress evaluations, exchanging experiences, and sharing best practices, is essential for building capacity and active participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Higher Education Area.

Minister Dubravka Bošnjak expressed satisfaction that the meeting provided an opportunity for an open dialogue among relevant stakeholders in the field of higher education. Further constructive collaboration is expected with the aim of improving the quality of higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
