The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, held talks today in Sarajevo with the Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Regional Coordinator for the Western Balkans, Laura Lungarotti.
The meeting focused on discussing key issues related to the work of IOM in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with the general challenges regarding labour migration and migrant issues within the country.
Minister Bošnjak expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation with IOM and emphasized the organization's crucial role in supporting countries in managing migrations, providing adequate assistance to migrants, and creating sustainable solutions for the challenges they face. During the meeting, the need for a collective approach to addressing migration issues at a regional level was underscored.
The Head of IOM Mission, Laura Lungarotti, expressed gratitude for the existing cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, emphasizing the importance of a joint approach in resolving migration issues.
Additionally, topics related to labour migration were discussed during the meeting. Minister Bošnjak and the IOM representative agreed on the necessity of continuously strengthening the partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Organization for Migration to effectively tackle challenges in this area.
