Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, congratulated the city of Banja Luka on its inclusion in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music. This prestigious title represents a significant step forward for Banja Luka, reaffirming its commitment to art, culture, and music. Minister Bošnjak expressed her satisfaction with this recognition and the belief that Banja Luka will continue to strengthen its role as a centre of musical excellence in the region. The Ministry of Civil Affairs actively supported Banja Luka's candidacy for membership in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Banja Luka, as a new member of the Creative Cities Network in the field of music, has joined a select group of cities that recognize the power of art and creativity in shaping the future. This title opens up new opportunities for the development of the music industry, the promotion of cultural heritage, and the encouragement of creative expressions.

UNESCO today adopted the decision on new members, on World Cities Day, and a total of 55 cities have joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. These new cities are recognized for their strong commitment to harnessing culture and creativity as part of their development strategies, as well as for innovative practices in people-centred city planning. With the latest additions, the Network now includes 350 cities in more than a hundred countries. The cities are categorized into seven creative fields: crafts and folk art, design, film, gastronomy, literature, media arts, and music.
