The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, met in Sarajevo with the coordinator of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lejla Tanović, and discussed with her the current projects that the ILO is implementing in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tanović informed the minister about the cooperation that the International Labour Organisation is achieving with the Ministry of Civil Affairs and competent entity ministries through three employment projects.

The European Union project "Support to Local EmploymentPartnerships - Phase II" (LEP II) is aimed at the development of local partnerships for employment in order to provide programmes of activation and integration into the labour market in accordance with specific local needs.

The "EU4 Employment" project is a new project funded by the EU and the Swedish International Agency for AIDS Cooperation with 5 million euros and implemented by the ILO through grants and the provision of highly specialised technical assistance to labour market institutions, social welfare centres and civil society organisations, in order to increase quality employment opportunities for young people, women in the countryside, people with disabilities, Roma, social assistancebeneficiaries and other vulnerable individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The third project whose realisation is underway is the "YouthGuarantee" within the framework of which the economies of the Western Balkans should establish a system of guarantees for youth in accordance with the one in the European Union.

Tanović also informed about the activities that the International Labour Organisation is conducting in the organisation of its 111th session, which will be held in Geneva from 5 to 16 June 2023.

International conventions of which BiH is a member were also discussed, and it was concluded that out of 83 conventions and 1 protocol ratified by BiH, 65 of them are in force. The Ministry of Civil Affairs successfully collaborates with relevant organisations, entities, and the Brčko District in the regular yearly reports that BiH submits on the application of ratified conventions.
