Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO: Continuation of Collaboration in Preserving Cultural Heritage

In Venice, a meeting was held to discuss the collaboration between Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO regarding the preservation of cultural heritage. Attending the meeting were the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josip Brkić, as well as the Regional Director of the UNESCO for Europe, Magdalena Landry, and the Head of the UNESCO Office in Sarajevo, Siniša Šešum.

Discussions focused on the work of the UNESCO Regional Office, past cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO, as well as planned joint projects and future activities. There was a commitment to continue promoting and preserving the country's cultural heritage, with the UNESCO Office in Sarajevo playing a crucial role.

Nominations for Vjetrenica for the UNESCO World Heritage List and sevdalinka for the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage were highlighted as priorities, considering the significance of these two assets.

 Participants agreed that collaboration between Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO is of great importance for preserving cultural heritage and promoting cultural diversity.
