Minister Bošnjak participated in a panel titled "Assessing the status of implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and its contribution to the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development during the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development."

The panel was held as part of the 57th session of the Commission on Population and Development, taking place in New York from 29 April to 3 May.

During this panel, experts from various fields, including government representatives, the academic community, and civil society, shared their perspectives on the achievements and shortcomings of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). They explored how demographic changes, universal health coverage (including sexual and reproductive health), individual rights (including reproductive rights), poverty and hunger eradication, gender equality advancement and women's and girls' empowerment, as well as sustainable economic growth and environmental protection, impact the attainment of sustainable development goals.

Discussions revolved around the contribution of the ICPD Programme of Action to achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs), and best practices and lessons learned were presented.

The panel discussions and conclusions are part of the Commission's report from its fifty-seventh session, which will be submitted to the Economic and Social Council following the closure of this year's 57th session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development.
