The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, accompanied by a delegation, visited the University of Mostar, where a meeting was held with the Rector of the University of Mostar, Prof. Dr. Ivo Čolak, and members of the University’s administration.

During the meeting, both institutions briefly presented their activities and operations, while discussions also focused on the successful cooperation achieved so far and the possibilities for joint engagement through new projects and programmes, including projects financed by European Union funds, as well as other development and institutional initiatives of mutual interest. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation in the fields of science, education, international activities, and the enhancement of research capacities.

The participants also discussed activities that the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the University of Mostar will jointly implement during June, with the aim of bringing European programmes, project opportunities, and international cooperation closer to the academic community, students, researchers, and other interested stakeholders.

During the visit, Minister Bošnjak congratulated the management, teaching staff, students, and all employees of the University of Mostar on the successful completion of the international reaccreditation process, which confirmed that the University meets key quality standards in higher education. She emphasized that this represents an important European recognition of quality, further strengthening confidence in the value of qualifications, the international recognition of diplomas, and the position of the University of Mostar within the European academic area.

“The successfully completed international reaccreditation is an important confirmation that the University of Mostar is developing its higher education system in line with European quality standards. Students benefit the most from this, through greater recognition of diplomas, higher-quality education, and academic mobility within the European area,” Minister Bošnjak stated.

In conclusion, the participants highlighted the importance of connecting the academic community with institutions at all levels of government, as well as the need for continuous investment in the development of higher education through initiatives that will contribute to the further development of the University of Mostar and its stronger integration into European academic and research processes.
