Call for Nominations for the L’Oréal–UNESCO “For Women in Science” International Awards 2027

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina informs the public that, within the framework of the L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Programme, the call for nominations for the 2027 International Awards has been launched.

These prestigious awards are presented annually to outstanding women scientists in the fields of Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, with the aim of promoting excellence and strengthening the role of women in science at the global level. In the 2027 edition, five distinguished female researchers will be awarded, with each Laureate receiving a prize of €100,000 for her contribution to the advancement of scientific research.

Since the launch of the programme in 1998, a total of 142 Laureates have been honoured, seven of whom later received the Nobel Prize, further confirming the credibility and significance of this programme.

Scientists and scientific institutions worldwide are invited to nominate candidates for the award, while the final selection will be made by an international jury composed of eminent scientists.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina invites relevant scientific institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to make this information available to potential candidates and research teams, thereby contributing to strengthening the international visibility of the scientific community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
